Helen
Gurley Brown Passed Away at 90
Helen Gurley Brown, passed away
this week. She was an author for a well-known book for shocking the
public of the early 60′s “Sex and the Single Girl” and Editor at
Cosmopolitan magazine for many years.
She called herself a feminist, she
showed women of so many ages that it was ok to be single, and it was ok to
focus on a career instead of marriage. She wrote books, became the
editor of a magazine of which she revolutionized for the time and had a
successful marriage, she literally did have it all and did so with style. Helen figured out how to have that
balanced and did a good job, she had many great lessons for women and
brought the topic of being a strong independent woman right to the
forefront.

On a
Personal Note …
Well, the Olympic games
from London, England are over and we are back to normal… I hope that the
athletes are basking in success and enjoying their triumphs in their homelands.
It is still summer,
hot and humid in many places in the country; many are still enjoying boating on
the lakes, surfing and bonfires in the open.
Our next long
weekend is Labor Day – it feels as if it is right around the corner and the
children will be back at school.
Enjoy the rest of
the summer …
Thought of the week:
Nobody grows old by merely living
a number of years.
People grow old by deserting
their ideals.
You are as young as your faith,
as old as your doubt;
as young as your self-confidence,
as old as your fear;
as young as your hope, as old as
your despair.
General Douglas MacArthur
1880 - 1964
We wish you a successful week!
