Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambition.  Small people always do that, but the really great ones make you feel that you too, can become great"…---

"You can have what you want & you can have it now."

 David Neagle

This past week I read a blogpost by Deborah Gallant.  She has been travelling in Europe and made a list of the pros and cons of life especially in France, and from her perspective.  I am presently also travelling in Europe and find all her comments quite amusing and to the point.

Pro:

Directions and Signs.  It was hard to get lost in any city because the signs to all the important sights were ubiquitous.

Languages: Europeans definitely get that they are part of a bigger world and most people speak more than just their native tongue

Tableside Credit Card Processing:  When you charge your meal in a European city, the waiter brings a small wireless handheld device and swipes it in front of you, virtually eliminating the possibility of fraud.

Energy conservation: both our London and Paris hotels were retrofitted with a single master power switch so that you don’t waste energy.  The London room wouldn’t let you turn on a single light unless your room key was inserted in the master panel.

Free admission to cultural sites for people under 18: Bring the children

No lost commercial opportunities:  Construction scaffolding throughout Paris was wrapped in advertising.

Con:

Smoking: Smoking in outdoor restaurants

Coffee: No refills

Fermee: In France half the establishments were closed during the summer months, mainly August.  The same goes for Italy and Spain.

A real decision is measured by the fact that you have taken a new action. If there is no action, you have not truly decided.”~
